Our Practice Provides Family Services in -
Contraception and Gynaecology
This includes discussion of the best individual options for the patient, including the Contraceptive pill options, barrier methods, health education, Implanon implants and Mirena interauterine device. Patients will be referred for intrauterine device insertion as needed. Dr Peterson provides a vasectomy service for families who wish for a more permanent contraceptive method, or referral for tubal ligation can be arranged. Dr Van Rooy, Dr Peterson and Dr Lewis have Implanon accreditation. Dr Van Rooy and Dr Lewis are accredited for mirena IUD insertion. Pap smears and are arranged with the doctor of choice, and a recall system is in place for routine women’s health care.
Diagnosis and Management of Pregnancy
Pre and post pregnancy counselling and care can be provided, including shared care of the pregnancy through to term. Several of the doctors in the practice have obstetric experience at the Diploma level, and most doctors in the practice have completed Family Planning training.
Dr Yeoh and Dr McCluskey have a Diploma of Child Health, and our Nurses are all accredited for the administration of childhood vaccinations, for which we have agreed to bulk bill. The practice has a particular interest in paediatrics. There is an audiometry service for child hearing screening, however children under the age of 5 are referred to John Hunter Hospital for specialized hearing diagnosis.
